After breakfast, depart for Chambal (285 Km / 4.5 hrs). On arrival, check in at the lodge. After lunch leave for afternoon visit to Chambal river to see Gharials and Crocodiles. Some of the highlight species of birds we see here are Indian Skimmer, Bar-headed Goose, Ruddy Shelduck, Egyption Vulture, Black winged stilt, Black-bellied Terns, Red-crested and Ferruginous Pochards, Sarus Crane, Great Thick-knee, Indian Courser, Pallas's Fish Eagle, Laggar Falcon and many more. Get back to the lodge when the sun starts getting harsh.

This diverse habitat is home to over 400 bird species, 379 floral species, 50 species of fish, 13 species of snakes, 5 species of lizards, 7 amphibian species, 7 turtle species, and a variety of other invertebrates. Every year, thousands of migratory waterfowl visit the park for the winter and to breed. Early morning drive to Kheechan, where one can see large gatherings of Demoiselle and Common Cranes. The sight of these birds in a massive congregation is sure to be a memorable one. Other species to be seen here include, the Brown Rock Chat, which is endemic, the Variable Wheatear, Chestnut Bellied Sandgrouse, and the Greater Short-toed Lark.

This protected area packs in an incredible diversity of ecosystems into the relatively small area of 6 square km. The sanctuary, created over the 1920s and '30s, is formed from two man-made dykes that separate fresh water from sea water, creating the opportunity to simultaneously observe species that belong to each ecosystem, and some that share both.
